The other day I left Peanut while she was washing her hands in the bathroom that is closest to our kitchen. I was washing some dishes and reminded her to finish rinsing her hands and turn off the water. A minute later she still had the water running, never a good sign with three year olds… So, I went to check on her. She had a strange expression on her face. When I asked her what was wrong she said, “I have soap in my mouth.”
Trying not to laugh, I got a cup of water for her and had her rinse and spit. Sure enough bubbles came out of her mouth. We talked about how the soap tasted bad and I figured, “Well, now she won’t do that again…”
It seems whenever I think that as a parent, I am proven wrong.
That night I left her in her bathroom, brushing her teeth, while I got her brother in his pajamas. When I returned she looked like a rabid dog, only the foam around her mouth was bright, fluorescent green. She had used the Kandoo kid’s hand soap to brush her teeth. I guess the soap does smell good, but I really can’t believe it could taste good enough to try twice in one day.
Anyone who comes to our house will have a hard time finding soap in the bathroom now… Mommy put it on top of the medicine cabinet before bed that night.

Maybe she just didn’t get that soap in her bathroom and and soap in the other bathroom would taste the same! The good thing is that in small amounts it really shouldn’t be harmful.

Well, at least it was SOAP! I have a little boy who has repeatedly gotten into MUCH messier stuff. LOL!

lol, This was great, your daughter sounds adorable. I was only just reminding my son (who is now 15) that when he was around 5 he would come home from school with gravel in his pocket, I learn that he was sucking on them like sweets, he even went through a stage with sand, and then string! Not sure what it was in his diet that he was lacking, though at 5ft 10 now he is eating us out of house and home. Stay blessed, Amanda
