Our Favorite Christmas Books:
If You Take a Mouse to the Movies — Laura Numeroff brings her famous mouse back for this cute story. Written in her classic style, your child will love to hear what happens when the mouse gets popcorn at the movies.
Lucky Pup’s Christmas — This adorable story by Ken Brown is about a puppy’s first Christmas experience. After chewing up the Christmas cards, and a few other mishaps, he is sent outside. Confused about what Christmas is, and worried that he ruined it, he stays with his friend Pig that night. By the end of the book he realizes that he didn’t ruin Christmas after all.
The Christmas Crocodile — This is a humorous book about a family who receives a crocodile for Christmas. The crocodile eats the family’s roast and several presents and is sent to the basement. More humor unfolds throughout the book, until at last the family realizes the crocodile was sent to the wrong place and the delivery truck picks it back up. We love this books so much we made our own Christmas Crocodile craft to go with it.
My Birthday, Jesus’ Birthday — I love how this book explains to toddlers and preschoolers the meaning behind Christmas and why we celebrate.
Each year we read our favorite Christmas books several times, snuggling up together in front of the twinkling tree lights. We also love to discover new books to share, after all, there are so many wonderful children’s Christmas books to explore.
