Spring is the perfect time for kids to do some cute sheep and chick crafts. We had so much fun with this hand print sheep craft with cotton balls, that I decided to use the cotton balls in another spring craft. These cotton ball chicks were a huge hit with the kids!
How to Make a Cotton Ball Chick
Cut the egg holders out of an egg carton. For toddlers and young preschoolers you may want to do this step ahead of time.
Glue one cotton ball inside the egg cup for the chick’s body and another on top of that for the chick’s head. (Tip: let little ones use a paintbrush to apply the glue to avoid a sticky situation!)
Next glue on simple construction paper beaks and wiggly eyes. (Everything is better with wiggly eyes!)
My daughter chose to “girlie” hers up a bit more with a bit of pink feather tail sticking out of the chick’s shell.
These cotton ball chicks were such fun to make that the kids each chose to make several.
