Tissue Box Craft

I love springtime, but along with the warmer weather and beautiful flowers, there are also seasonal allergies.  That means a lot of tissues being used.  And that makes it perfect timing for some tissue box crafts!

For most tissue box crafts (like our tissue box vehicles) you need an empty box to start with, but my daughter and I decided to decorate a full tissue box — giving us all a little smile each time we grabbed a tissue this allergy season. tissue box challenge

And, what better way to decorate the box than to turn it into a cute springtime bunny?

Using a paint brush, Peanut applied glue to stick the brown paper to the box.  (No need to use construction paper, check the recycling box for an old paper bag!) tissue box bunny

We covered the front of the box first, using a rectangle of brown paper with the ears cut out.  Then she applied pink paper to the ears and a cute bunny nose. preschooler cardboard box craft

The next step was to wrap the rest of the box.  Once the box was covered, I carefully cut a slit for the tissues to come through.

She drew on the rest of the face and added a handful of cotton balls for a fluffy bunny tail.  preschool upcycle craft Who can resist smiling when grabbing a tissue out of that box?
