Bunny Pop-Up Craft

With the start of school we haven’t found a lot of time to craft around here during the week.

Coloring, drawing, the occasional painting?  Sure, but not an actual planned craft.

This pop-up bunny is one that is quick and easy to do and brings plenty of smiles!

For each bunny craft, you will need a styrofoam (or paper) cup, a craft stick, and a bunny picture.  (I just printed some off the computer.)  You will also need decorations for your cup.  We used foam flowers, but you could also just use markers or crayons or a variety of stickers.

First make a slit in the bottom of the cup for the craft stick to poke through.  Since we used styrofoam cups, we just pushed on the bottom with the craft stick, but you may need to use scissors to make this slit for your child before they start decorating.

Once the slit is made, decorate the cup as desired.  Then you just color the bunny and glue it to the craft stick.

The result is a bunny that hides in the cup when you pull the craft stick down and then “pops” up out of its hole when the stick is moved up. preschooler rabbit craft

The afternoon was filled with plenty of giggles and lots of, “Guess what’s in my cup…” moments.

What’s crafting at your house lately?  I’d love to hear about it!
