There is a slight chill to the mornings, the leaves are starting to change… It is definitely time to start decorating for fall! This week we did a simple preschooler scarecrow craft.
All you need is a paper plate, scissors, glue, and a variety of colored paper to complete this craft.
Paper crafts are always easy to adjust depending on the age/level of your little crafter. For toddlers or younger preschoolers, having the pieces cut out ahead of time will make it easier for both of you. For older preschoolers you may want to draw the pieces and let them practice their cutting skills. With school-age kids you can just give them the supplies and watch their creativity explode.
I chose to have some pieces cut ahead of time for my preschooler, that way he could start gluing right away. Once he started his craft, he cut a few pieces and opted to draw some of the facial features on his scarecrow craft instead.
With a larger group it would be fun to have a variety of hats, eyes, collars, and patches for them to choose from. Each one becomes as unique as the artist!

With the school year beginning we haven’t done as many crafty things…and they have certainly been letting me know it is time to change that! 🙂
