Preschoolers love cars and trucks. My son is no exception. Lately we’ve been having lots of fun with our learning activities with toy vehicles.
Last week we did “F” is for firetruck. This week we were ready for vehicle activities for the letter “G.”
What vehicle comes to mind for the letter “G?” Why, “G” is for garbage truck, of course!
Preschool Learning Activities Using Toy Trucks
Our first activity was a simple block puzzle to form capital “G.”
I traced some large Lego blocks onto a plain piece of paper, forming the letter “G”.
Then I presented my preschooler with the paper and a handful of blocks and asked him to recreate the letter.
For our next garbage truck activity I asked him to line up his trucks in order from biggest to smallest.
Once our trucks were in order, we worked on estimation skills. I asked him how many large Lego blocks he thought could fit in the back of his largest garbage truck.
And then we counted while he discovered just how many really could fit. We were able to fit in 9 square blocks!
By then the preschooler was ready for a garbage truck craft.
I had traced some simple shapes onto a piece of paper earlier. He found the correct spots to glue them and create his own shape garbage truck.
You could also add crumbled tissue paper to the back like garbage, but my little artist didn’t like that idea.
We had lots of fun with our preschool learning activities with vehicles, especially our garbage truck craft. I can’t wait to have fun with “I” Is for Ice Cream Truck!

How fun. What toddler doesn’t like garbage trucks? At my age, though, I instantly thought of Golf Cart. lol

Golf Cart! Now THAT would have been an additional vehicle for us!
