We have had a hard month dealing with our dog’s mysterious injury. It is hard for all of us to see her this way, and I know it is hard for the kids to understand why we aren’t doing all the fun things we usually do.
This weekend I decided we needed to bring a little sunshine in, and so I threw this simple rainbow craft together.
This one really takes no set up time.
I grabbed our collection of tissue paper and let them get to work ripping the colors they wanted into small pieces. (You could do this ahead of time with toddler and preschoolers and save it for when you want to do a craft. It’s great for fine motor skill practice!)
Then I showed them how to use a glue stick to make a curved rainbow on the window pane. Yes, we put the glue right on the window! (My kindergartner was thrilled with this idea!)
The kindergartner carefully stuck the tissue paper to the window. (The preschooler does not like anything sticking to him, and decided to draw a rainbow instead.)
The tissue paper will peel right off when we are ready to change our decorations, and the glue stick will wash off with water. Until then, we will enjoy or bright and cheery rainbow in the window.
Happy crafting!

And, the best part is that there really is not big set up before hand. 😉

How fun! I’d be afraid to let them know it’s ok to put glue on the windows, though. I think Daddy would have a heart attack!

LOL — Yes, my husband kind of looked at me funny when I told him they were glued to the window…

Thank you.
Unfortunately our dear dog passed away a couple days ago. I haven’t been able to bring myself to write about her yet. She really was such a part of the family; it’s hard to believe she is gone.

So exciting to glue right on the window…..and you can use celophane pieces with just water for another similar project. thanks for sharing on craft schooling Sunday!

Oh, we are going to need to try it with celophane one day!
