When it comes to homemade playdough, I like simple. Honestly, I figure you can buy it fairly cheap, so if I’m going to make it, it needs to be easy to do and have a different feel than the store-bought stuff.
Several years ago we came across the most amazing, silky-smooth playdough recipe. With just 2 ingredients to the basic recipe, bubble dough is also super simple to make.
Bubble dough is the softest playdough I’ve found. It is also really stretchy, perfect if your child likes slime but you don’t want to deal with the usual ingredients found in homemade slime.
While you can mold bubble dough into shapes, it will eventually look like it is melting as it slowly oozes into a puddle. Another favorite feature is that you can easily make your playdough scented any way you’d like, just by using scented soaps to make it.

I love how each of the recipes begins with the same 2 basic ingredients and then becomes something unique with just a simple twist or two. And, since it is so simple to make bubble dough, the kids can easily help creating this soft and stretchy homemade playdough.
