12 Lines of Thankful

October 25, 2012 by OneMommy

Happy Thursday!  Time to get thankful!

Today’s post is short, sweet, and to the point — a 12 line post for the prompt on Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop.

***

Beautiful weather, perfect for extra time outdoors,

allowing us to enjoy the beautiful foliage,

and adding up to 2 tired children who fall asleep easily at the end of the day.

A bulldozer, knocking down as many Autumn Olive plants as it can,

not only allowing us to better use our land,

but also allowing me to breathe easier when spring allergies hit…

and giving my construction vehicle-loving son so much joy.

A determined husband, measuring, sawing, and hanging doors on our barn,

making it much more useful than it had been when we first bought the property,

and making it safer for our kids when they play outside.

For all of these things this week,  and so much more,

I am thankful.Thankful Thursday link up

Now for my favorite part; I’m turning it over to you.

What are you thankful for this week?

I am thankful to wake up to snow this morning. Yes, snow in October! We had no snow last winter, no rain this summer. We needed the snow in the worst way, and here’s hoping for a long, snow-filled winter. Welcome snow!

We had almost no snow last winter, too, and a very dry summer.
      Enjoy your snow!

I’m thankful for the season…Autumn is my favorite. Loving the crisp air and festivals that pop up this time of year.

12 lines of thanks—what an excellent idea! I found it hard to decide what I wanted my 12 lines to be about! I chose humor.

I’m thankful that my young adult college student was able to help his younger brother with his physics over Skype. The helpful sibling who hasn’t forgotten family at home is one thing to be thankful for, and the existence of Skype itself is another.

You know, I got a camera last year so we could Skype with my sister’s family and haven’t done that yet! I think we are missing out!

Yes, an older sibling willing to help over Skype is definitely a blessing!

Maybe Skype is just a frill in your situation and you have other methods of communication that are working fine for you with that family. When it becomes necessary, when the communication seemingly can’t happen otherwise or you are pining to see your child’s face when they live far away, then you will naturally use it.
