When you see a kid-made suncatcher in the window, you just can’t help but smile. Our favorites are Coffee filter suncatchers, which are easy to make and can be modified to fit any season.
I love how the colors swirl together in thissimple coffee filter Easter suncatcher my daughter made.

Easter Suncatcher
Materials Needed:
- Coffee Filter
- Liquid Watercolors (or food coloring)
- Eye Dropper or Pipette
- Black Construction Paper
- Clear Tape
- Paper Towels
Directions:
Lay your coffee filter flat on several paper towels. This will help minimize the mess.
Use your eye dropper to drip a rainbow of liquid watercolors onto the coffee filter.
If you don’t have liquid watercolors, you could also use a bit of food coloring mixed with water. (Or, try this variation using washable markers.)
Allow the coffee filter to dry completely.
Once your coffee filter is dry, cut a large cross shape out of your black paper. You can ensure your cross is symmetrical if you fold the paper in half and then cut out half a cross, using your fold line as the cross’s center.
Use clear tape to secure the colorful coffee filter to one side of the paper.
The cross Easter suncatcher looks beautiful hanging in the window as the sun comes in.
