Decorating pumpkins is an October tradition.
While a lot of kids enjoy carving pumpkins, it’s the no-carve pumpkin decorating ideas that my kids really get excited about. Not only do they last longer than the carved versions, but the kids can really get creative with them.
This year my son had tons of fun creating a googly eye pumpkin. Googly eyes really do make everything better!
Googly eyes are always fun to use for craft projects.
We’ve also had fun using them to make googly eye slime, a simple homemade slime for Halloween.
This fun no-carve pumpkin idea looks great on a mini pumpkin, but it’s also fun on larger pumpkins.

Materials Needed:
- Pumpkin
- Craft Glue
- Googly Eyes
- Paintbrush (optional)
- Small Container (optional)
Before decorating your pumpkin, wash off any dirt and dry it completely.
Decide which type of wiggly eyes you will use. You can use wiggly eyes that are all one size, or you can mix and match a variety of sizes and colors. The choice is completely up to you.
Use your craft glue to stick each eye onto the pumpkin.
My son had fun finding just the right spot to add each of his plastic eyes. (Notice how all the tiny eyes got put in a group?)
For younger children I suggest pouring a small amount of glue into a shallow container and having them use a paintbrush to apply the adhesive. Older kids or adults can carefully add the right amount of glue to adhere each googly eye.
This simple no-carve pumpkin with googly eyes makes a cute centerpiece alone, or in a group of mini-pumpkins.
