Thankful for Tastes of the Season

December 13, 2012 by OneMommy

Ice Cream.

I’m not picky; I like pretty much any ice cream that doesn’t have nuts… (Don’t want to kill my husband by kissing him afterwards, after all.)

But this time of year brings my very favorite…  Peppermint Stick.

Thankful Thursday 12/13I actually buy several cartons of it this time of year and then store it in the downstairs freezer to enjoy all year long.

Last night, I stared at the blank screen, trying to write today’s Thankful Thursday post.  Eventually I closed the computer and found myself with a cup of cold, delicious, pink and minty inspiration.

Something about that smell of peppermint, that taste…  This time of year brings about so many wonderful flavors and smells.

And being able to enjoy them?  For that I am thankful.

Leave a comment and let me know what tastes and smells you love this time of year.

And if you have a Thankful Thursday post (or other Thankful post), be sure to link up with us!  (I’d love it if you shared with your readers that you linked up here!)

Keeping with your theme, I linked up one of the recipes I’m most thankful for: Granny’s Favorite Gingerbread (Soy, Fish and Nut-Free, Can Be Milk-Free). The reason I’m thankful for it is because, well, it reminds me of my Granny when I make it and her memories surrounding it. 🙂 I love nostalgic food!

    Thanks for hosting!

I love the smell of evergreen trees. Unfortunately my husband is allergic to evergreens so we have an artificial tree but that is a smell I love this time of year.

Me too! Wish I had picked up a few of those sticks you can hang from your artificial tree to make it smell real…
