6 Favorite Summer Moments So Far…

July 24, 2013 by OneMommy

Happy Thursday!  One day until the weekend — and yes, stay at home moms count down the work week, too!

This week I am loving Mama Kat’s writing prompt: List your 6 favorite summer moments so far.

My 6 favorite summer moments so far, that I am so thankful for, are:

  1. Watching my daughter’s dreams come true when she met the Disney princesses.
  2. Getting to see my dad’s face when my sister’s family surprised him at the rest area on the way to Florida.
  3. My son confiding in me that he knew Lightning McQueen and his friends were real because Doc Hudson turned on and off his lights by himself at the hotel.
  4. Watching my kids catch fireflies;  just thinking of my 4 year old grinning and racing to me, shouting, “I got one, I got one!” makes me smile.
  5. Every single second I spent on the beach that week in Florida.  I loved the powdery white sand, the beautiful sunsets, and hunting for shells with my babies.
  6. Wow, looking over my list, all but one had to do with our trip to Florida….  And number 6 is going to continue that trend with — watching my husband relax and enjoy himself while on vacation.

    Thankful Thursday
    One of my favorite moments…

There you have it, my Thankful Thursday this week.

I’d love to hear about some of your favorite moments so far this summer!

And, if you have your own thankful post, go ahead and link it up!

It sounds like you had a fabulous trip! There’s something special about kids at the beach, isn’t there?

I had to visit from Mama Kat’s when I saw the Ariel picture – I have a similar photo of my daughter with the mermaid from years ago. Your summer memories are precious – I love the total belief in make believe that little children have. I remember my son trying his hardest to pull Excalibur out of the stone in the Magic Kingdom; he was convinced he would be King if he could do it.

      I love that! (Excaliber’s sword…)
Yes, kids and their strong beliefs in the magic of Disney World is precious indeed!

Oh gosh, I remember catching fireflies as a kid up in New York when I was growing up. We’d catch them and then let them go and it was just so neat to see them move.

You can tell just how much you love your kids were nearly all on your list were your joy of seeing your kids happy, in some form or fashion. 🙂

You know, I had noticed that so many were about our vacation, but you are right, they are all about my kids. They are my world right now.

Alot of fun summer moments! Seeing the princesses is always such a treat for every little girl! Our daughter surprised us by arriving at the train station a day early in Spain. When we walked up the ramp I saw this girl bouncing up and down and running our way. When suddenly I realized it was our own little, Kylee. Well, she’s 24, but still our baby! What a delightful moment!! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann
