A Thanksgiving Poem

November 24, 2011 by OneMommy

Happy Thanksgiving to all my wonderful readers!  May your day be safe, happy, and full of scrumptious food and family.

Inspired by Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop, here is my Thankful Thursday post today:

I am Thankful For:

I live in a country where I’m free to be

a doctor, teacher, or Stay at Home Mommy.

With people who are willing to fight for our rights,

I am able to safely sleep in my bed each night.

**

A safe home for my family to live and play

Food for us to eat every day

2 Healthy children for me to love,

Miracles from God sent from Heaven above.

**

At four, there’s my daughter

who fills our home with joy and laughter,

Energetic, creative, funny, and smart,

My little girl, I love you with all my heart.

**

My son, who this year turned 2,

hair of blonde and eyes of blue.

Growing bigger every day,

I love hearing funny things you say.

**

8 years this December brought us our dog;

She’s furry, and sweet and a bed hog.

Patient and kind with our kids,

I think she’s the best dog there is.

**

Last, but not least, my angel from years ago,

My husband, my friend, who loves me, I know.

He works hard each day for his family,

and comes home to his kids, the dog, and me.

***********

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Looks like you’re thankful for all the right things! I’m thankful for 4 days of rest this year. =)

I did the same prompt, but your poem is much better than mine. 🙂

Great job! Stopping by from Mama Kat’s. Happy Thanksgiving!
