Dear Ebay

December 20, 2012 by OneMommy

Dear Ebay,

Thank you for helping me to make the Christmas wishes of my children come true.  My son loves the Disney movie Cars.  Unfortunately, it is hard to find the cars from the original movie; most stores carry the characters from the second movie, which he doesn’t like.  (After all, the cars get hurt in that movie…)

I was able to find a few of the original characters at Toys R Us (Yeah!), but Doc Hudson (the one he really wanted) was no where to be found.  Other online sites wanted 30 dollars or more for it…and then I turned to Ebay.  $12 later and Doc Hudson was being wrapped to be placed under the tree.

And then there was Wendy Waters, a no longer made figure from Fisher Price’s Rescue Heroes series…  My kids have been watching videos of Rescue Heroes lately.  My son has Billy Blazes, a fire fighter from the show.  My daughter asked for Wendy, the other fire fighter, but alas, she was no where to be found.

I figured it would pass, that she really only wanted it because her little brother has a few of the figures.

And then her little brother asked for it for her in his letter to Santa.  A letter where most kids list all the toys THEY want for Christmas, and he asks Santa to bring his sister Wendy Waters.

Such a sweet gesture, and I wanted to be sure Santa could deliver.  And for less than 7 dollars (and no shipping cost), Wendy will be arriving before Christmas, along with the Dalmatian puppy from the cartoon series (got to love a bonus).

Thank you, again, Ebay, for helping this mom make a couple Christmas wishes come true.

I’m thankful for so many things that it’s difficult to choose but here are a few that I’m especially grateful for today:-)
1.) That a little boy received a heart transplant and seems to be doing well.
2.) That sometimes judges disagree with prosecutors and give people a second chance at being successful in life…especially when the person getting the second chance has come so far from their lowest point 🙂
3.) To have lots of people in my life to love…family and friends.
4.) That my family are my friends as well as my family. I consider that a priceless gift.
5.) That it’s Christmas time and I am able to enjoy the season with family and friends. I’m particularly grateful that in our family Christmas extends into January so we get a chance to enjoy the family members we don’t get to see quite as often:-)

I could go on and on but I will stop here 🙂

I am thankful, too, for the miracle the little boy received today. May his heart beat strongly for many, many years.
And for an extended Christmas — such a joy to be able to share that time with family we don’t see often enough!

🙂 Love that you have a plan for if those grades don’t improve! Moms must always have a plan!

I am thankful for all the blessings I have been given… my beautiful home, my children and husband…food and shelter and clothes and good health. Friends and family and good schools and lovely neighborhood and the list goes on and on and on. So grateful. So humble. Thanking God for it all! 🙂

      Beautiful list.

Sometimes I feel I could list forever what I am thankful for.
