Dear Target

March 4, 2012 by OneMommy

Dear Target,

Oh, how I’ve missed you!

Our time together as I perused your dollar section last night was all I had hoped for.  In the past you have supplied me with numerous craft items and little goodies that brighten gloomy days for the little ones.  After staying home with sick little ones this past week, I was just itching to get out (without the little darlings, mind you).

Your red and white circular sign drew me to you like a moth to a flame.  My heart pounded with excitement as I grew closer to your automatic doors.  And I must say, you didn’t disappoint.

Max and Ruby coloring books and stickers?  Yes, please!  (I think I just got Mommy of the year award with that purchase.)

Packages of fake bugs and new butterfly nets in the colors pink and blue?  Priceless.  Can’t wait ’till my little bug-catchers get to see them this spring.

Wind up bunnies, jumping bunny games, little chick view finder “cameras”…  You even have goodies this Easter Bunny can slip into baskets.

Don’t you worry; I didn’t neglect to find items for the husband and myself as well.  The husband has been looking for a new eyeglass case.  The hard zippered one for a buck made his day, and the big, pink floppy hat  is sure to make me the most stylin’ girl at the pond this year.

So much joy in so little time.

My toes are still tingling with our brief encounter.

So, thank you, Target.  Thank you for putting a smile on my face and for the terrific deals that are sure to put smiles on the little ones’ faces in the future.

(And Visa says thank you, too!  That bit of plastic hasn’t seen store light in much too long.)

Until we meet again,

OneMommy

You just described my feelings as I am pulled in by the red and white bullseye. I honestly end up there when I don’t intend. I think my car just likes to go there to meet with her its friends in the parking garage. I’m pretty sure I park next to the same cars VERY often.

LOL – love the image of the cars getting together in the parking lot… Funny how we wind up places we don’t intend to sometimes. Target happens to be one of the places the husband and I go after dinner on date nights. LOL

I love target, but unfortunately in Hawaii we don’t have those dollar bins!

What a shame! The dollar bins are my favorite part! 🙂

I so know what you mean! I felt like I had not been to Target in a month after being sick last month. When I walked in the store it was all fresh and new, and there were clearance items to be had. I filled up the cart in no time at all, bargins and new things. I enjoyed reading your shopping trip!

We live about 15 minutes from the nearest gas station and a good 25 minutes from any real shopping — I’m not sure if Target is THE big store for those who live nearer to it, but it is MY fav. right now.

I luv me some Target! Not too happy with the girls clothes starting at size 6, but everything else, I’m like a kids in a candy store.

Yeah, I’ve noticed once the kid’s clothes are out of the toddler area the clothes are not what I want my kids in… I’m hoping fashion changes in the next year or so.

Aww… what an awesome post!! (here from blog frog)

This honestly reminds me of a creative writing project I wrote about shopping in High school where I talked to the store and the clothing in it as though it were a separate living, breathing individual. I got an “A” but I think my teacher thought I was nuts:)

Creative writing in high school was always fun. 🙂 I personally think your idea sounds like a fun read!
