Did you know that the first week of October is Fire Safety Week?
These preschool activities with firetrucks are perfect for celebrating Fire Safety Week, or use them any time of the year. After all, preschoolers love firetrucks!

Preschool Learning Activities with Firetrucks
There is something about those big red (or yellow) firetrucks that gets little ones excited.
These simple to set up firetruck activities will be a big hit with preschoolers and toddlers.
If you have a collection of toy fire trucks, they are perfect for working on counting skills. We had so much fun with this in our dump truck activities that we just had to do it again.
You can use ladder trucks and tanker trucks, from small Hot Wheels to big Tonka trucks and everything in between.
Ask your child to line the trucks up, and then give them a set of number cards to use as they count them all. We were amazed by how many we had!
Once you’ve counted your trucks, you can use them to work on identifying the letter “F.”
Use Post-It Notes and a marker to create a path of capital and lower case letter “F.” You can even make a small fire waiting at the end of the path for your firefighter to put out. (I used some red tissue paper stuck in a small box.)
Now for the fun part. Have your child follow the path to the fire using their favorite truck. Then they can put the fire out.
You can make it trickier by making other paths with different letters so they have to follow the path that is only the letter “F.”
Continue the fun with one last firetruck activity.
Create your own ladder on the floor using painter’s tape or masking tape. (Thank you to JDaniel4’s Mom for such a creative idea!)
Your child will have fun climbing the ladder on his hands and knees. They can also practice jumping in the squares. Little ones love to jump!
I hope you and your child enjoy these simple preschool learning activities with firetrucks.
