I Want a Catamaranger

February 7, 2012 by OneMommy

Don’t you just love when kids get words mixed-up?

Yesterday my daughter told me she wanted a “catamaranger.”

“A catamaranger?”  I asked.

“Yes, like what you put money in when you go shopping,” she said.

“Oh, a wallet?”

“No…”

“A change purse?”

“No, a catamaranger.  Like at the grocery store when you buy food…”

“A credit card?”  I tried again, trying to figure out what she was trying to say; after all, I do use the credit card at the grocery store.

“No, Mommy, like at the store.”

“A cash register?”

“Yes!” she said, excitedly.  (Finally, Mommy had it right.)

What words have your kids mixed up?

SO cute! When my 7YO was a toddler he called strawberries “bye-straws.” 🙂

Okay, I was totally thinking she wanted a sailboat! Isn’t there a sailboat by that name. Or close. I think it’s a catamaran!

I love when little ones get words mixed up!
She did wind up getting one eventually – and she loves to play store now!

That is too cute! I love it when they do that too! My now 15 year old used to say: Chothers. She thought that was a word and it meant: Each Other. So cute….
