God knows I have a lot to work on in that area.

We did get to take another trip there a few years later, without stomach issues getting in the way.

It did get a little better, although he was under the weather for most of the trip, we did get out to see the aquarium in Gatlinburg and did a few short hiking trails. We went back a few years later and THAT was much better!

A few days in, I woke up feeling dizzy, like I couldn’t move because every bone in my body ached and I had a fever with the chills. A few minutes later, I was on the tile floor of our very posh resort in Jamaica. Thank goodness we “did it up” for our honeymoon because I ended up spending a good 36 hours in the bathroom. I ended up seeing the doctor at the resort and they told me that I had all of the symptoms of the flu (we were married in the winter…prime time to pick up a bug on the airplane). Although, since I was on my honeymoon, the doctor said we couldn’t tell people I had the plain ol’ flu. He told me to say I had the “island flu”. Now whenever someone I know has the flu, I think back to that and it makes me laugh.
