Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It… (Okay, Enough Snow Already…)

December 26, 2012 by OneMommy

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, like watching Christmas unwrap itself through the eyes of your children.

Before the storm….

Last year our youngest still needed help tearing into his packages.  It was a slow process, with a few presents being opened, followed by some playing and then a few more being opened.  It actually took them 2 days opening their stuff that way.

I knew this year was going to go by a lot faster, but I wasn’t prepared for the whirlwind that hit the living room at 7:30.

I barely had time to blink, much less take pictures.  I wish, now, that I had set up the video camera to catch all the excitement.  (Definitely going to try that next year!)

There were quite a few, “Oh my goodness!” remarks, lots of smiles, and 2 happy kids (3 if you count the furry one who devoured 1/3 of her raw hide bone).

And today?

Today we woke to a blizzard.

The view from my back window…

I guess I should tell my son to be a little more specific next time he wishes for snow!

He had been wanting snow, and we sure have it today!  We went out for a bit this morning, and had about 6-7 inches, with drifts of a foot or so at that time, and it was still coming down very heavy!

I’m thinking the snow on the table is just asking to be made into snow ice cream later!

Well, it’s time to go; the “bat signal” is calling all super heroes, and my son is waiting for me!

What toys have you been enjoying with your kids?

    Awwww…your snow looks sooo beautiful!
It’s very pretty to look at…and lots of fun to play in…but not so much fun to drive through!
Enjoy your “snow” days with your kids = )

Have to agree — I love how the yard looks covered in snow. But driving in it is NOT my thing!

Haha! Well, I’m glad you guys got snow even though it was a lot more than expected! 🙂
