Letter to the Dog

November 7, 2011 by OneMommy

I am thankful today for the husband being able to come on our trip to the zoo, and also the rare treat of Uncle D. and Aunt A. being able to come along.  (30 Days of Thanks)                                                ***************************************************************

Dear Fluffybutt,

Let me start off by thanking you for your patience with the children.   I know before they came along you were the “child in the family”, and it was a big adjustment to you when the world didn’t suddenly revolve around your desire to play fetch.  Also, I know it isn’t exactly your cup of tea to play dress up, yet you patiently let the preschooler decorate you.  Thank you for that.shepherd huskey lab mix

Now, you know how much we love you, but I have a few things I think it’s time you realized:

  • You are privileged to be allowed on the bed.   Not every dog is as lucky.  Keep in mind that the bed actually belongs to us 2-legged creatures, and as such, we have the right to stretch our legs out.  Furthermore, my leg is NOT your personal pillow.
  • Continuing with the bed idea, if you even think of marking my favorite blanket again, you had better re-think it or you may just find yourself sleeping outside.  In fact, don’t mark any of the bedding.
  • Furthermore, the next time you are on the bed and you feel the urge to puke up whatever grossness is in your stomach, get your fluffy self off the bed.  I am NOT in the mood to put new sheets on the bed at 2 in the morning.
  • Not to get picky, but please bare in mind that when you find some “delicacy” to eat in the yard no one wants you to lick them, not do we suddenly feel like showering you with affection.
  • Good manners would dictate leaving the room BEFORE passing gas, not afterwards, when the smell is even too much for you to take.
  • Good manners would also mean not whining to go out the minute I actually get to sit down.  If you have to pee, please go to the door BEFORE I sit my butt down.

And in case you should forget any of that, well, we will all love you anyway!

I am a dog lover too and Jamaica was our first born as well. Ash & Bean call her their big sister. Jamaica is the one thing in our home that everyone can agree is full of love and happy to see everyone of us 100% of the time. That’s why she gets lots of belly rubs!
This post had me laughing…so many similarities!!

Yep, the dog is definitely like a 3rd child around here… Whining to get attention when she feels left out, and occasionally getting more attention than she wants at the time!

haha! My dog was the ultimate recycler with her own poop. I never wanted her to lick me…
