Owl Lunch – #WordlessWednesday

April 24, 2012 by OneMommy

owl sandwich via There's Just One Mommy

This was today’s lunch.  My daughter said, “Hoot, hoot, hooray!” when she the owl sandwich.

So easy to do, with just a couple cuts.  I added a strawberry beak, some cucumber eyes with raisins for pupils and a couple strawberry feet to stand him on the pretzel branches.

Thanks! I think it was almost too cute – the litlest one didn’t want to eat his.

Even I’d say hoot hoot hooray to that too :). I should start doing that: being more creative with my daughter’s dishes…

I don’t do things quite this fun usually – but it does make making pb&j a little more interesting! (Even mom gets bored making the same old same old.)

I love what your daughter said when she saw the sandwich! That’s definitely something to keep a record of! The banana slices and raisins made great eyes. So cute! The strawberries were a good idea, too. I used a red pepper for my owl’s beak, and Emmy didn’t care for it. My daughter Lily loves red peppers, though!

Didn’t know you made one! LOL – can’t wait to check it out!
My son LOVES strawberries… His owl needed a new beak several times during lunch. 🙂

Thanks – it was fun to make. Sometimes as a SAHM it helps to stretch your brain a bit, even if it’s just making lunch.
