Sesame Street Thanks

February 9, 2012 by OneMommy

When my kids were a bit younger and I couldn’t trust them alone long enough to take a shower, I learned the benefits of Sesame Street.  (On second thought, I probably still shouldn’t trust them, lol, but I have managed to shower without needing to put them in front of the t.v.)

After months and months of watching part of Sesame Street each day, they started requesting videos for their morning “down time”/my shower time.  Who’d have thought I’d miss Sesame Street?  But we didn’t make it to the library this week, and the videos were all put in the car already, anticipating a future library trip… So here we sit, watching “Super Grover”, and I am thankful.

Why?  For one, we aren’t watching the same fire truck video we’ve had from the library for 3 weeks now (and yes, we’ve seen it every day of those 3 weeks).  For another thing, we are sitting here together and we are laughing at Super Grover’s silly antics while learning (today it’s about ramps).

I’m going to get back to the land of Sesame Street now – Elmo’s World is coming up, and you can’t miss that!

I’ll leave you with one question, what are you thankful for today?

I am a fan of Sesame Stree as well. My oldest is stuck between liking an not liking Sesame Street and it’s sad to see. An end of an era.

Glad other’s still enjoy Sesame Street as well. 🙂

Sesame Street has a lot of good qualities — We watch a lot of PBS around here. Hoping we have another year or two of liking Sesame Street – it has so much to offer for learning opportunities.

Sorry to hear she was sick. 🙁 Hope the rest of your family can avoid it!

My twins are into this totally stupid Zhu Zhu video. It’s called The Quest for Zhu. They adore it though – they get to watch one show a day and pretty much always beg for that one.

Don’t you just love when they get hooked on a show you can’t stand? LOL. That’s how my husband is with the Firebuster video my son got from the library….

Yes, sometimes I wonder how my mom lived without one for so long – we were one of the last families to get one….
