Sibu Beauty Giveaway

February 17, 2013 by OneMommy

Taking care of my skin has never been a huge priority for me.  Well, unless you count trying to get rid of zits back in high school…

Inching closer to 40 has made me rethink my skin care, especially how I clean and moisturize my face.  I’ve been more diligent about putting moisturizer on each night.  After years of using the same face lotion that I’ve used since college, I’ve started checking bottles, comparing their claims…wondering which might help make those lines near my eyes disappear.

And then there’s the soap.  Could using regular soap to wash my face each night being drying out my skin like all the commercials say?

With so many choices, and not enough time to read them all (after all, kids in the shopping cart like to keep moving!), I was excited to try the Sea Buckthorn Facial Cleanser from Sibu Beauty.

The Buckthorn berry is a key ingredient in Sibu Beauty’s products.  What’s so special about that?   The Buckthorn berry contains the elusive Omega 7, in addition to the more common Omega’s 3, 6, and 9.  All four of these work together to provide cellular support for healthy skin, hair, and nails.

The first thing I noticed when I opened this product was the scent.  Some products are just too over-powering.  Sibu Beauty’s facial cleanser has a very light, almost citrus scent.  (It actually helps me wake up in the morning!)

The next thing I noticed  was the itty-bitty micro particles that give your face a gentle exfoliation.  I’ve tried a few exfoliating products in the past that have felt like you were rubbing sand paper all over your skin.  This was completely different!

Something else I love about this cleanser is that it is sulfate-free.  So many products contain sulfates, something I never looked at until my mother developed a pretty severe allergic reaction to all types of sulfates.  As an extra bonus their products are cruelty free and vegan friendly.

I wash my face more regularly now that I’m older, and I moisturize, too! Sibu sounds like a nice cleanser!

I really have liked it so far.

      Good luck!

I have always had dry skin, but 4 years ago I was diagnosed with Psoriasis and it has really been a tough road. Itching, cracking, bleeding, embarassing, and also dealing with the questions. Like people think if they get too close, they’re going to catch it. Right now it is closer to being in remission than ever before, so I am grateful for that.

Some people are just rude. I hope you continue to get closer to remission.

My daughter has super dry skin — to the point that it was bleeding last year in spots… I want to cry when I’m rubbing lotion on her.

After having my two daughters I don’t take care of my skin as well as before.

Yes, kids take up the time we used to do things for ourselves! 🙂 But I wouldn’t change it…

My skincare really hasn’t changed much over the years. I’ve always been good about moisturizing, and bad about cleansing at night. At 44, I think I look great age wise, but I always have dirty pores. It might be time for some tweats in my routine.

I make sure I moisturize throughout the day with a moisturizer with SPF =D

I have started with a SPF moisturizer as well. Hopefully all those baby oil tans in the 80’s don’t take too much toil!

My face hasn’t changed too much- yet- but I’m always looking for ways to take care of it for the future!

Yes, it’s important to think about the future when it comes to skin care.

      Good luck!

I’ve had to pay a lot more attention to moisturizing and sun protection these days.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

I have a couple fine wrinkles, but the uneven skin tone and the dark spots are what has really changed the most as I got older. I used to have perfect skin and now it is a little dull with dark spots (I call them sun spots.) I never really got into a major skin care routine when I was younger but I kind of wish I did!

I did not see your link on my site in time or I would have promoted the give away! Let me know when you run another one! I would have loved to have entered this one myself!
