Summer Memories – Thankful Thursday

September 8, 2011 by OneMommy

Traditionally Labor Day marks the end of summer festivities.  Looking back on all we did this summer there are so many memories I am thankful to have made with my family!

Summer Memories

After fifteen hours in a car,

Salty water and powdery white sand –

Here we are!

On Daddy‘s shoulders, what did she see?

Princesses dancing –

A wonderful memory!

Disney PrincessesThe sun shone bright up above –

Kiddie pool, slides, and picnic lunch

What’s not to love?  In the evening, not as hot

The shade in the driveway

Was a favorite spot.Of course, they also learned to fish

Months of pretending in the basement,

My son’s greatest wish!

What summer memories are you thankful for?

Today’s Thankful Thursday post is inspired by: Mama’s Losin’ It

Ahh, I wish I could be at the beach again.

Me too! Although I needed a break from the extreme heat we were having, this 30 degree temperature drop makes me long for Florida!

    Thanks!
We were so fortunate to be able to go to Disney this year – hope we can again when they get a bit older!

I’m thankful that my in-laws are still around and healthy enough to go on vacation. I’m thankful that we took them on vacation with us to visit relatives in Iowa over the Fourth of July and to the Badlands area of South Dakota after. I’m thankful that they had a good enough time that they would do it again next year. I’m thankful that our three grandchildren and our niece had fun as well. I’m also thankful for those lazy/crazy days of summer with my grandchildren as well as half the neighborhood kids hanging out in the backyard. It really was a pretty great summer:-)

Vacation with family – no doubt the kids will remember it forever! I know mine loved going to Florida with the grandparents and their cousin this year.

I love it! What a wonderful summer you had. So many memories. And how cute you made it all rhyme. Here’s to an equally wonderful Autumn!

It was a good summer; but then, each day is precious in some way as I watch them grow.
Hope you have a great fall, too!
