T.G.I.F. – Here’s Some Childhood Wisdoms to Make You Laugh

July 29, 2011 by OneMommy

T.G.I.F. (Now if only my husband wasn’t working nights this week and didn’t have to work over the weekend…)

I don’t know if it is the heat or what, but the kids have been a little nuttier lately.  I could use a laugh, and since toddlers and preschoolers have such a way with words, I thought I’d share a few funnies with my readers.

A few days ago my daughter was super cranky.  I figured it was due to two things: it was lunch time, so she probably needed to eat, and since she hadn’t slept well the night before, she was probably a little tired.  “Sweetie,” I said as she started to calm down and was joining me at the lunch table, “you need to eat a little lunch and maybe take a nap.  When you feel like this it’s because you’re tired and maybe hungry.  You need to listen to your body.”

“But, Mommy,” she said, “my body doesn’t talk!“

Whenever her grandpa or papaw calls her “princess”, my little preschooler is quick to correct them.

“I’m not a princess; I’m NOT wearing a dress right now!”  (I guess real princesses wear dresses all the time…)

And I can’t forget the 2 year old.  He was eating some banana yogurt.  (Remember, he loves yogurt.)  “Yellow,” he said.

“Yes, it is yellow.”

“Pee is yellow,” he continued.

Can’t argue there.  Can you tell we are potty training?

Now that you’ve had a laugh or two, I’d love it if you hopped over to Flight Platform Living.  I got a comment from her on my Thankful Thursday post this week, so I stopped by her blog for her “Forget Me Not Friday” post and would love to have a few of you give her some love.
