I admit it, I’m a sucker for handprint crafts, myself.

Watching my children as they finished this colorful handprint Turkey craft, I knew this would be a Thanksgiving craft I would keep for years to come.

This simple turkey craft is a fun toddler or preschooler craft for Thanksgiving or fall.

Younger kids will also like making this paper cup turkey. 

Handprint Turkey Craft

Start by tracing your child’s feet on brown paper.  For this craft, don’t bother tracing around each of their individual little toes.

Cut the footprints out. 

To make your turkey’s body, glue the heels of the footprints together with the toe portions facing opposite ways.   The footprints will form a triangle.

The overlapped heels will form the turkeys head, while the toe sections form his lower body.    

To make the turkey’s colorful tail feathers, trace your child’s hands on several colors of paper.

Glue 5 hand prints to the turkey’s back to form his tail. 

Glue 2 more to his front to form wings.

Cut out a small orange or yellow diamond shape and fold it in half to form the beak.

Have your child cut out a wiggly red wattle to add to the turkey.  They can also make legs from orange or brown construction paper.

Glue all these parts in place.  

Your child can draw on eyes, cut them out of construction paper like we did, or use wiggly eyes to finish the craft.

When you are finished crafting you will have a completely unique handprint turkey craft for each child.  Be sure to put the date on the back of them because you’ll want to keep these cuties!
