Thank You to the Teachers

May 19, 2011 by OneMommy

It’s the end of the school year, and although it doesn’t personally affect me as much now that I’m a SAHM, I am still thankful for the memories I have from teaching and the wonderful people I met during that time.

In honor of all the wonderful teachers out there, this week’s Thankful Thursday post is dedicated to teachers.

I’ll Remember You Always

Rarely does someone
get to influence a person’s life
in a positive way
for a lifetime,
as a teacher can,
fostering optimism and confidence,
providing knowledge that leads to success,
and being a good role model,
as you have,
and you are,
and you will…
forever.
I’ll remember you always.
Thank you.

We’ll Remember You

Thank you teacher for helping us
To learn what we need to know
We’ll all remember you
No matter where we go. Thank you, teacher, for being
So nice and kind and good;
We like you so much, teacher,
We’d stay here if we could!

Both poems are from Poemsource.com and  according to the site are designed to accompany a teacher appreciation gift or be used on a card.

I use to be a teacher too. I think about how the school year is coming to an end here and part of me misses that feeling of accomplishment as you send kids who are a little smarter, a litter bigger, and a lot more confident to the next grade!

Yes, as small part of me misses that, too. But then I look at my own kids and realize how much they have grown and learned this year.
      Thanks for stopping by!

As someone who was a teacher at one point teachers can be underestimated. Teachers work their butt of to be a confidant, a educational provider, and sometimes a parent. Teachers have a profession that they can’t leave at home. We mold the leaders of tomorrow and are totally under paid!

They are totally underpaid! Unfortunately most people don’t believe it. I remember spending many hours working on things at home for my students: planning lessons, creating games to review for tests, spending my own money on prizes…

My sister is a teacher. I admire her. She is also a part time vice principle. I also believe stay at home moms are teachers as well. I’m a stay at home grandma and Abby learns something new every day and it amazes me.

Oh I have to agree, a SAHM is a teacher, too. I haven’t left my profession, I just don’t get paid the same way now – now I get paid in hugs!
