Thankful for Thanksgiving #Crafts

November 16, 2011 by OneMommy

With just a week before Thanksgiving Day, it’s a great time to do a few simple crafts with the kids.

Looking for a few ideas?  Here’s one we did recently:

  • Hand Print Turkeys with a Twist:

A few days ago I got out the water color paints for the kids to play with after lunch.  Before they became mini-Picasso’s I brushed paint on their palms and fingers and made a few hand prints.toddler hand print craftOnce the kids were done painting, and the hand prints were dry, I had my preschooler draw on beaks, waddles, feet, and eyes to make little painted hand print turkeys – a fun and easy twist to the old standard! painted turkey craft

Didn't they turn out cute?

Want some more ideas?

  • Tree of Thanks
  • Toilet Paper Tube Turkey
  • Simple Construction Paper Turkey
  • Thankful Turkeys (found on Lemon Drop Pie)

I’m thankful for the time I’ve had doing these crafts with my little ones.

What are you thankful for today?  Got a great and easy Thanksgiving craft to share with us?

Those handprint turkeys did turn out really cute! I love how the watercolors look.

They would probably be even better with a different kind of paint, but this mommy isn’t ready for paints that take more than water to come off hands (at least when working with 2 kids at once).

I bet that does get a little old! I have to say my 4 year old had fun doing these… The 2 1/2 year old is at a “don’t get my hands dirty” stage, so he only did one and wanted his hands cleaned right away!

Thanks! Fun, too, for the most part… Sometimes I forget to have all the materials on hand and ready, and then it’s a little more hectic than I would like. 🙂
