Thankful for the Journey of Finding Peace

June 27, 2012 by OneMommy

Happy Thursday!

If you read my Thankful Thursday post last week, or my previous post on Forgiveness, then it shouldn’t come to a shock to you that I’ve been trying to make peace with a few things lately.

It’s been a roller coaster ride.

This week I am thankful for time.  They say time heals all wounds.  I don’t know if that’s true, but I know that the years that have gone by have given me the distance I needed to not feel so raw as I work through things now.

I am thankful for a very supportive husband, who has understood my need for time.

I am thankful for second, and third… chances.

I am thankful for good reading material that helps you see inside yourself.

I am thankful for the power of prayer (yes, I’ve said it before and I say it again).  I pray He continues to guide me, stand by me, and help me on my journey.

Now for my favorite part of Thankful Thursday – I turn it over to you.

What are you thankful for this week?

It’s amazing what a difference it makes when you’re with someone that’s so supportive & understanding!

Yes, it really is. Something to be thankful for every day.

I didn’t do my usual Thankful Thursday post this week but this week I was/am thankful for our car. I typically complain that it is small and that I’d like a second one, but really I’m thankful that we can at least be able to have the one we have. I mean it runs, so it’s not all that bad – plus it’s almost paid off.

I love the positive outlook! Being able to have at least one car that runs is better than having 2 that are in the shop a lot. 🙂

{Melinda} I am thankful that my son arrived home from camp today safely and with only a sunburn. I’m also thankful that God is always faithful.

Peace … God gives it liberally, but we have a hard time holding onto it. It’s a moment-by-moment process, isn’t it?

Glad to hear your son is home – hope the sunburn isn’t too bad!

Yes, it is hard to hold on to the peace sometimes, definitely a process.

Beautiful post. I am grateful for my therapist. And God. Together, we work as a team trying to make sense of my life.

Thanks for sharing your lovely post. Best wishes for continued healing.

Stopping by from SITS. Have a great weekend.

I’m thankful for my quiet time when I can take it, and for creative projects that seem to bring me closer to spirituality than anything else.
