Thankful Thursday

September 14, 2011 by OneMommy

It’s been busy at There’s Just One Mommy’s house lately.  With the start of the school year for so many, I’m sure it’s been busy at your place, too.  So this week’s Thankful Thursday is a list – quick to type, quick to read, and quick to get back to what’s important – our kids!

1.  I’m thankful for the  1 1/2 hours of kid-free time I had to run to the grocery store Wednesday evening.  I had TONS of coupons, which are never fun to deal with when you have kids along.  Plus, by the time I was done buying all the stuff we needed to restock there was no room left in the cart to have 2 kids in tow!  (Okay, there’d have been room, but seriously, it was nice not to have to drag them along….)

2.  I’m thankful for the Chinese food my husband brought home the other day.  And even more thankful that the kids actually ate some of it so I didn’t have to make an alternate meal for them.  (Honey, anytime you want to bring home dinner is alright with me!)

3.  I’m thankful for our library’s wonderful story time programs.  Since we’ve opted not to sign Peanut up for a preschool yet, it is great that we have a free preschool story time where she can go into “class” by herself.  Not only is she getting a taste of preschool, but her toddler brother and I have a little time to ourselves.

There’s so much to be thankful for when you really think about it, but I’m trying to keep it short and sweet this week.

Now it’s your turn:  What are you thankful for?

I feel compelled to say I’m thankful to be healthy enough to go roller skating on Wednesday nights with the three grandkids. I’m also very thankful for the friends who go with us and the new friends I’ve made there as well. I’m thankful to have a husband who doesn’t mind that we go skating even though it isn’t something he will ever do. Mostly I think I’m just thankful to be able to enjoy life!

I’m always thankful for being able to go to the grocery store without the kids, LOL!! Small things, really! I guess this week I was thankful for drier and warm weather as it’s supposed to turn colder tomorrow.

Yes, those small things really are great sometimes! Hope you have a wonderful weekend; it’s growing colder here, too…
