Welcome to the first Thankful Thursday post of 2013!
As I was singing our daughter to sleep, and thinking of what to write for this week’s post (always multi-tasking!), I thought it fitting to look back at 2012 and all the blessings it brought.
First, and foremost, I am thankful for the health of my family. They say it is something you don’t think of until something happens. I want to be sure to take the time to appreciate it every chance I get. Thank you, God, for the health of my children, my husband, and those we hold dear. I am further thankful that 2012 found my parents and my in-laws in good enough health to enjoy spending meaningful time with their grandchildren.
I am thankful for each of the memories now displayed in the calendar on our wall. Flipping through the pages before I hung it up took me back through the year: festivals, trips to the zoo, our trip to C.O.S.I. and the Air Force Museum, fishing with the kids… And as long as I’m thinking of the calendar, I am thankful for the ability to catch each of those memories on film (so to speak) so I can relive them as the children get older.
I am thankful that we were able to travel to Illinois to meet up with my sister and her family this past September. I wish our children were able to spend more time together. I know they enjoyed the visit as much as I did — they still speak about their cousins.
I am thankful for the constantly improving relationship with my husband. We have learned the importance of taking time out for each other, regular date nights, and better communication.
I am thankful for the 2 furry members of our family. I am also thankful that Fluffybutt has decided to accept the fact that Fluffball really does belong in our garage. It only took a year. See, you can teach an old dog new tricks!
I am thankful for the roof over our heads and the land it rests upon. I am thankful for the improvements we were able to make to it this year: the bulldozer clearing more land, the barn being made safer, and more debris being picked up.
There are 365 days to be thankful for, and I could go on, but now I want to give you a chance.
What are you thankful for from 2012? Leave a comment or link up below.

Communication is so vital to relationships! So glad you guys are growing so much there! And that life has been so good to you this past year. 🙂
OneMommy says
It really is! I think our problems stem from keeping things to ourselves, not wanting to hurt the other… We are learning, in the end, that only hurts us more.
OneMommy says
Thank you! 🙂

Awe I love thankful Thursdays. Right now I am really grateful for the wii that we got for Christmas. I’m having lots of fun making a fool of myself dancing.

A Wii sounds lots of fun! I keep hearing about so many fun games on it; we may need to get one next year!
