Thankful Thursday for November 1

October 31, 2012 by OneMommy

Happy Halloween!

I am posting this week’s Thankful Thursday post early because we will be heading to my parents’ house for trick-or-treat tonight, followed by an overnight at Grandma and Grandpa’s house, which means no Internet to post it tomorrow morning.

This week I am thankful for the multitude of sweet 3 year-old kisses I’ve gotten from my little boy.  He is super serious about his kisses, using his hand to move my hair off my cheek and planting a big wet kiss.  I love watching  him give big sis a kiss at night time; it almost always leads to them crashing to the floor in a big hug.

I am also thankful for my daughter’s spirit.  Every week when we go to swim class she asks to do the climbing wall.  There is a sign saying “40 pounds and up,” which she is no where near…  But this week we saw another little girl doing it, and the next thing I knew Peanut was strapped in and half way up the wall.  She made it all the way to the top to ring the bell.  And her smile was ear to ear!  I’m going to admit it, I am scared of heights; you probably won’t see me climbing any time soon…  The best part was when I told her I was proud of her — I got the biggest hug I think she has ever given me.

My 2 blessings the last time we went to the zoo~

This is the first Thankful Thursday post for November.  In the month where we celebrate Thanksgiving, I like having a visual reminder for the kids of all we have to be thankful for.

Last year the kids and I made a Tree of Thanks to hang on our wall, each of us adding a hand print “leaf” with something we were thankful for each day for the whole month of November.  It was a beautiful reminder of all we have to be thankful for.  Next week we will share our leaves for the week.  We’d love for you to join us!

Now it’s your turn to share what you are thankful for this week!
