Thankful Thursday — Spring Picnics

April 10, 2013 by OneMommy

Happy Thursday!

One day closer to the weekend and time for some happy thoughts!

This week I am thankful for spring weather!

We have been able to have several picnic lunches this week. thankful for springOur first was a walk to the pond, where my son was excited to find that Papaw had brought back the box of construction trucks and other sand toys, ready for some serious play this season. It was hard to contain his excitement long enough to get him to eat!

Although it was still sweatshirt weather, which meant Mommy had to remind them to stay out of the water several dozen times, we all had fun reuniting with the sand toys.

Surrounded by the trucks he loves~

We have also gotten to picnic at the park — no sweatshirts needed that day!

I lost count how many times they went down all the slides. And the grin on Monkey’s face while I pushed him on the swing? That was priceless.

Have you gotten to enjoy some outdoor time yet this spring? I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to!

And, if you have your own Thankful Thursday post, or other post related to being thankful, I’d love to read it! Link it up below, just be sure to link to your actual post.

It has been too cold to spend much time outside this week! And it’s been raining for the past three day! April showers, I guess.

It’s been cold here up until the past few days, but I think it is supposed to turn cold again. ๐Ÿ™ And we are getting lots of rain today! Hope that means lots of flowers!

So excited about the Google+ community! Thank you!

Yay Spring! I wasn’t too surprised after writing my Thankful post today on Spring when I saw it was what you are thankful for as well, it seems like most of the county is thawing out finally ๐Ÿ™‚ Picnics are so fun!

Finally is right! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope the weather stays nice… I just washed all the snow clothes and keep hoping I didn’t jinx us!

I’m grateful that we live in an area where we get to experience dramatic changes in the weather during all four of the seasons. I always look forward to the different seasons as they each contain their own unique, special beauty.

I’m eagerly anticipating the warmer, sunnier spring weather to arrive as we’re getting another blast of winter here today : (

So glad that it’s “spring” somewhere, and that you guys enjoyed being outdoors = )

I like that we get to enjoy each of the 4 seasons, here, too.
We are supposed to get colder weather this weekend… Today it was definitely April showers!
I hope you get that warmer weather soon!

Great post, One Mommy! My girls had so much fun when warmer weather came and they could play outside. We live near a city park with a playground and we often took a picnic lunch or dinner.

I was so excited to find the park we go to. When my daughter was younger I couldn’t find a park with swings… Then one day someone told me about the park we go to now. It has 2 play areas, one for the younger crowd, which is great for my not so skilled climber son. ๐Ÿ™‚

We had two warm days this week and now back to cold! At least the little bear and I did get to go for a walk and hit the playground when it was warm!

Thank you so much for sharing at the Oh What a HAPPY Day party.

The girls have been enjoying time outside here at the house after school. Sunday we went to the park, but the other days there were too many bugs. The one disadvantage with living on a river! It seems the first few warm days all the bugs start to come out and then it is not as bad. Our yard was ok, but the park and too close to the river was just not happening with kids that cannot stand bugs ๐Ÿ™‚

I have also been enjoying the cooking on the grill the last few days!

I need to get the grill back and running! It fell over (twice) in the wind the other day… Hoping it still works!

I think I have gotten out, but not for long. Hasn’t been sunny and warm consistently but the day I did go to the park – half the town was there! I think everyone is itching to get out ;o)

Yes! Our park was busier than normal, too!

The lake in the background looks like a place I used to walk around in upstate New York years ago. Looks very cold! I love getting my kids out and about, but it’s never stress free! Emily

Oh, no, taking kids anywhere is NEVER stress free! I wish my husband would get that. He is always trying to “help” me by telling me where I could take the kids…

Okay- it’s killing me- I have to ask because I can’t find it anywhere… WHAT is your name???? Every time I comment or you comment on my blog and I respond… I want to call you by name and I can’t! I do feel our friendship is close enough to do that! LOL

Anyhoo, We have had some nice outdoor time too!! A few park days and kids are out rollerskating on the sidewalk a lot lately! Some outside play dates have been awesome too!

LOL — yes, yes, I will have to let you in on the secret of my name! ๐Ÿ™‚ So far I have kept it off the blog, as well as keeping my kids’ names off. I just sign everything OneMommy.

My first name is Christina. ๐Ÿ™‚

We live right next to a school and have the opportunity to walk over the park anytime after 4pm which I am grateful for (great energy release at the end of the day) Since the weather has warmed up we have visited the park a couple times.
I had not even thought about picnics yet!
I am thankful for Thursday because both my kids and daddy are home and we get to spend special time together as a family.

Special time together as a family is such a blessing! And having a playground right next door — that would be awesome!

What great photos of the picnic! I’m so glad you all had a wonderful time. Seeing my son smile always makes me happy. We’ve been able to spend some time outdoors the past few days, and it’s made such a difference in our demeanors.

Yay! for picnic lunches! We haven’t been able to enjoy the outdoors as much as I’d like but hoping the weather stays dry this weekend so we can.

Hi OneMommy! Found you at BloggyMoms and thought I would stop by! Love your about page! I LOVE a PJ Party! In fact my husband and I have a Christmas PJ Party every year! ๐Ÿ™‚

Spring has sprung here. We live close to Augusta, GA and my daughter and husband have headed out to the Masters Golf Tournament today. Couldn’t be a more beautiful day for that. I am jealous. The other girls and I are going shopping and to get our toes painted. Mine are too big for the park ๐Ÿ™ Enjoy those days…they fly!!

    Happy Spring!

Those days do go fast! I feel like I blinked and the kids were 5 and almost 4.
Thanks for stopping by! Headed your way!
