Time.
There never seems to be enough of it.
This is especially the case when my husband is working nights.
There is no time to really talk to him.
There is no time for cuddling.
We all try to cram as much “Daddy time” in to the 2 hours he is awake before he heads off to work again.
And if work pages him during those 2 hours…well, our time is cut even shorter.
This morning, as I was getting breakfast ready and thinking about what I was most thankful for this week, that precious time is what popped into my head.
I am thankful that the kids had time to play in shaving cream with Daddy this Tuesday. Not only did they get to have some time playing with their dad, but I got 20 minutes to recharge, in another room, before I had to get dinner ready and 2 kids into bed. (The fact that Daddy did the clean up was an added bonus for me!)
I am thankful that when my husband woke yesterday afternoon, he was able to take our son to the library for a little while. It was a wonderful treat for Monkey while his sister had playdate with a friend.
Speaking of time, it’s time for me to chase a kid into the tub…. So, I am turning it over to you. What are you thankful for this week?

Health is always number one on my list! All too often we don’t even think of our health until it’s too late.
Thanks for stopping by!

Looks like he was having a wonderful time with Daddy 🙂 I can imagine it is rough when Daddy works overnight hours so I bet that he made the kiddos quite happy to play with them (and make a mess with them!)
And yes it is also nice to sit down for a few before finishing up the night routine.

I try to come up with something short that they can do with Daddy when he gets up and that won’t take too much energy on Daddy’s part. I find if I don’t have an idea of something they may want to do with him, then they all just go about business and then get all upset when it’s time for him to go.

It’s a favorite every time! Usually they drive cars in it; this time the superheroes had to have fun in the “snow.” 🙂

My husband works days and so I take for granted that he is home in the evening. You have now given me something to be thankful for. Thanks!

Loved that post the first time, and still do!
I’m off on a little rocky start with my resolutions, too… Actually still trying to stamp them all out a little better.
Thanks for linking up!

My husband has a bad one right now — trying to keep the rest of us from getting it.
Hope you are feeling lots better!
