The Start of Our Tree of Thanks

November 8, 2012 by OneMommy

Have you been participating in 22 Days of Gratitude or something similar?

It seems a lot of people have this year; I’ve been excited to see so many “Today I am thankful for….” posts on Facebook lately.  I know it stems mainly from the fact that it’s November, “Turkey Day” fast approaching and all, but wouldn’t it be lovely if it continued past that?

Like I mentioned in last week’s Thankful Thursday post, we started our Tree of Thanks this week.thankful tree

Once again it is becoming a beautiful reminder to the kids of all they have to be thankful for each day. They really got a kick out of tracing Daddy’s hand last weekend and having him add a leaf to the tree.  (I even managed to trace the dog’s “hand,” and asked the kids to help think of what she might be thankful for as well.)

Here are just a few of the things they said they were thankful for this week:

  • My house, my home, and my toys
  • Seeing, and eating
  • Sparkly Barbies and God and Jesus   (I’m sure God is happy he ranks up there with Barbie!)
  • Playing hide-n-seek
  • Pancakes
  • Playing fetch   (Okay, this one belongs to the fury one…)

Okay, now I want to hear from you!

Leave a comment sharing something you are thankful for this week.

Or, link up your own thankful post below.  (Make sure you link to the actual post, not just your blog.)  It can be a Thankful Thursday post, a post about your own Tree of Thanks, or any other post where you tell us something you are thankful for.  I can’t wait to get reading!

Oh, I think he’d be old enough… Just be ready for a lot of repeats. My son has said he was thankful for pancakes 5 days in a row now. Today I told him we needed to think of something besides pancakes….

You have such nice thank you lists.
I’m thankful for my quiet nook area, so when everyone else is having trouble getting along, I’m just fine.
