Not only are these crafts fun for kids to make, but they also provide a perfect opportunity to talk about triangles.

Triangle Preschool Santa Craft

To make Santa, you will first need to cut a large triangle from red paper.  This is the perfect chance for young kids to practice scissor skills.  You can draw the triangle for them to cut out.

You will need a pink circle for his head.  You can either cut eyes and nose from paper or draw them later.

Finally, cut black boots, belt, and a buckle.

Start off by gluing his head and boots into place.

Then comes the fun part!   Have your child pull apart cotton balls and stick the white, fluffy pieces on to form the fur trim of his hat, his beard and the fur trim on his boots.  My daughter decided to trim the whole bottom of his coat.

Stick on his paper belt and buckle, add eyes and nose, and Santa is ready to decorate a door.

Triangle Christmas Tree Suncatcher

For the tree you will need 2 identical triangles of green paper.

Holding both triangles together, use a hole punch to place holes all over the tree.

Set one triangle aside for now.

For your next step you will need lots of little pieces of colored tissue paper.   Little ones love being told to rip up tissue paper and it is perfect for working those little hand muscles.

Glue a square of tissue paper over each hole of the tree.

Once each hole is covered, match the 2 triangles back up and glue them together.

We finished ours with 2 star stickers stuck together on top.  You could also cut stars out of construction paper to glue on top.

Triangle Preschool Reindeer Craft

Start with a brown triangle for your reindeer’s head.

You will need antlers cut from dark brown paper (or perhaps another color), a pair of ears, and a nose.  We chose a red circle to make Rudolph.

Glue each item in place and add eyes.

I’m saving these to do with my four year old granddaughter whose coming in on the 21st for a ten day visit. Her sister who is 12 and I will have fun doing them and hanging them in the house. Or maybe she’ll even like to give them as gifts. Thanks btw you give me so many ideas and help me be a better grandma! Merry Christmas!

Love the triangle crafts! Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my Hershey Kiss post. Just bought a bunch of bags last night. 🙂 I’ve been reading a bunch of your posts this morning and enjoying them. Your most recent post about your children.. very beautiful. I agree… holding my kids tighter. My heart is so heavy for the parents out there going through this awful tragedy.

I meant to buy a bag of kisses yesterday at the grocery store — got to get a bag this week to do a few of those!

The tragedy hit my husband today — it is hard to not want to put your kids in a bubble sometimes.
