What the Kids Are Thankful For

December 27, 2012 by OneMommy

There are so many things I am thankful for this time of year…  Being able to spend the holidays with family is one of them.  I am glad that our children have the opportunity to get to know both sets of grandparents, and that they will have memories of the holidays spent with them.

For today’s Thankful Thursday post, however, I am asking the kids what they are thankful for this Christmas.

Peanut:  I am thankful for Lallaloopsy dolls with moving legs and their school bus and the Littlest Pet Shop hospital.  Oh, and the mommy and baby panda bear and monkeys.  (Score one for Mommy; I got the school bus and dolls at the consignment shop.  Santa gets credit for the LPS stuff.)

Monkey:  I’m thankful for opening up presents.

Me:  Any special presents?

Monkey:  My Lightning McQueen Tractor Tipping!  (Score one for Daddy for finding that one!  So glad we took credit for it… After all, Santa got credit for the Batcave that caused all the drama….)

What presents were a big hit at your house?

This week’s T.T. post was inspired by Mama Kat’s prompt:  Score! What gift is your child most excited about receiving this year?

Got a T.T. post of your own, or another THANKFUL post?  Link up with us!  I’d love it if you told your readers you linked up here, too!

My son never fails to LOVE the very simplest, cheapest gift. Of all the zooming cars and light up techno-gadgets he spent the entire day playing with a new set of markers 🙂

Typical of kids! 🙂 I think I could save money if I just gave them boxes, markers and lots and lots of tape!

Santa made some excellent choices this year by the kids’ reactions this year. One got a little mouse that he named Nick. Another got a kindle and has been glued to it since Christmas morning. Our youngest got LEGOS, an oldie but a goodie. I love how Santa just knows. Merry Christmas! Love stopping by and reading your posts!

Those do sound like some fun gifts! My little one is just getting into Legos — such a classic!

As always…Santa got too much credit!! My boy- Skylander Giants and my girl- American Girl doll. BOTH were actually my decision but grandparents ended up reimbursing me for them. So not only does Santa win, but grandpa and grandma too. 🙂

      That’s what happens here, too!
Am I bad if I let the kids know the idea was actually Mommy’s?
