Every kid is different - Love that she was so motivated. My little girl wanted these princess dolls her friend had; I just had to tell her she could have one if she pooped on the potty and that was it!
It's the staying dry thing that is the issue with my little guy... I'm hoping his train car is a good motivator to keep trying to stay dry!

My children two daughters were cloth diapered so changing to cloth big girl panties wasn't a question. I just had to find the one thing that would make her want to go to the potty instead of in her pants. Luckily for me it only took two days til my baby girl was potty trained on day four she was going poop. All it took was an iPad! I told her she couldn't play on my iPad unless she was going potty. Funny how that's all that it took! :)

Yes, although using the Pull-ups at the beginning is a plus just b/c there is less mess when you are just trying to teach them the basics. Being able to just pull them down was a lot easier than undoing diapers every time, too.

Definitely agree positive reinforcement is the way to go. With our first child I made the mistake of getting upset when she had accidents after we'd been training a while. I really think it held her back and made the whole process take longer. I am REALLY trying to have more patience this time around! In fact, it's kind of crazy to the extent of I have a silly song I sing when he uses the potty, and of course the treats now IF he is dry.
Good luck!

Good luck! I am having no luck with my son. He's used to cloth diapers and used to that wet feeling and its been quite a fiasco. It doesn't help that my husband doesn't positivly motivate him to use the potty, instead he tells J he is a bad boy for going in his diaper. I keep telling Hunky Hubs that he needs positive re-enforcement, not negative. He tells us when he needs a diaper change he tells us when he needs to poo, but he will sit there on the potty reading books for up to a half hour, refuse to actually go in the potty and then when we put him in his diaper he immediately goes. So I'm not sure what the issue is. He's not apposed to sitting on the potty, just apposed to actually putting pee or poo in the potty.

It's an adjustment, but it does seem like sometimes you have to hunker down and go cloth. They don't seem to mind accidents as much in pull-ups. Congrats on the initial success!
